The opposition presidential candidate, Yashwant Sinha filed his nomination on Monday. Leaders including TMC's Mamata Banerjee, NCP’s Sharad Pawar and Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh accompanied him for the filing of the nomination papers.Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) working president and Minister KT Rama Rao, SP's Akhilesh Yadav also attended the nomination programme. Former union minister, Yashwant Sinha (84), was chosen as the consensus candidate from the Joint Opposition for the upcoming Presidential elections which will take place on July 18, 2022.
