Australian Energy Market Operator ending intervention

The East Coast energy market is returning to normal operations after blackout concerns triggered an unprecedented intervention last week. The market operator is now handing back control to generators but warns there could be supply challenges in the future. Energy Minister Chris Bowen says the focus must be on transitioning to renewable power sources and building storage capacity.
