Millions of people have been stranded after monsoon rains caused deadly floods in India and Bangladesh. India’s northeastern Assam state had reported at least 71  deaths caused by floods and landslides as of June 19, 2022. In neighbouring Bangladesh, nearly six million people have been displaced by flooding, the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported on June 19.
