Taking a unique initiative towards empowering women, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has started the country's first girl panchayat in Kutch, Gujarat, the Ministry of Women and Child Development plans to start a girl child panchayat across the country soon. This panchayat has been started in Kunaria Maska Motaginya Wadasar Kukma village of Kutch district of Gujarat. Its responsibility is given to the girl child in the age group of 11 to 21 years.

Ministry of Women and Child Development ने महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने की दिशा में अनूठी पहल करते हुए गुजरात के कच्छ में देश की पहली बालिका पंचायत की शुरुआत की गई,महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय की जल्द ही पूरे देश में बालिका पंचायत की शुरू करने की योजना है।गुजरात के कच्छ जिले कुनरिया मस्का मोटागिंया वाडासर कुकमा गांव में इस पंचायत का आगाज हुआ है। इसकी जिम्मेदारी 11 से 21 साल की उम्र की बालिकाओं को दी जाती है।
