CDS Appointment Rules: The ministry of defence has issued gazette notifications to amend regulations of three defence forces Army, Navy and Air Force, related to the appointment of the Chief of Defence Staff. CDS post is remains vacant since the death of General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash in December last year.

CDS Appointment Rules: नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार ने चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्‍टाफ (CDS) पद पर नियुक्ति के नियमों में बड़ा बदलाव किया है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने सीडीएस (Chief of Defence Staff) पद के लिए पात्र अधिकारियों के दायरे को बढ़ाते हुए नए दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं। इसके तहत अब सेना (Army) नौसेना (Navy) और वायुसेना (Air Force) में सेवारत लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल या उनके समकक्ष भी सीडीएस बन सकते हैं।
