Char Dham Yatra: 25 dead as bus carrying pilgrims falls into a gorge in Uttarkashi

In a tragic road accident, at least 25 people died as ‘Char Dham Yatra’ bus carrying 28 pilgrims from the Panna district in Madhya Pradesh fell into a gorge near Damta in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Speaking to ANI, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on June 5 said, “A very tragic incident took place today, involving the accident of a bus of pilgrims from Panna, Madhya Pradesh; 25 people have died. We are putting all relief efforts. Both DM & SP sent to spot, HM has sent NDRF team.” Damta lies between Dehradun and Uttarkashi, and the bus was travelling to Yamunotri. More details are awaited.
