Russian And Ukrainian Forces Fight It Out Over Severodonetsk As Zelenskyy Says Russia Controls One-Fifth Of Ukraine

Russian forces have made progress towards gaining control of Severodonetsk in Ukraine. Severodonetsk is a major city in Ukraine's Luhansk province and Russian troops have been intensifying its attack there. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian forces have seized 20 per cent of his country's territory. On June 1, President Joe Biden announced that the US would supply Ukraine with new long-range missiles capable of striking targets as far away as 80 km (50 miles). Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused the US of adding fuel to the fire. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. Thousands have been killed in this war since then. Watch the video to know more.
