On Supreme Court's order, the hearing began in the district court of Varanasi. Before the Varanasi district court hearing, another Shivling claim was made. The petition of the Masjid Committee was heard in the district court on a priority basis. Both the Hindu and the Muslim sides put forth their arguments during the hearing.
