HUSBAND, wife and three kids, Chelsea and Chris present as a pretty average American family, but when the couple first met and fell in love, they were both lesbians. Chelsea had two older children from an earlier relationship that Chris became step mom to. Through IVF, the couple then had a child together, Carter, now six, but when Carter was just a baby, Chris had big news to tell the family, coming out as trans. Chelsea, who still identifies as a lesbian, suddenly found herself married to a man, while her children had to adjust from having a step mom to a step dad.The couple attended therapy, watched YouTube videos and had in-depth discussions about the impact it would have on their relationship, before coming to the realisation that their love 'transcended gender'.
