In 1567, Akbar issued a decree to plunder Banaras. In 1585, King Todarmal rebuilt the Kashi Vishwanath temple. After that, it is said Kashi did not recognize the efforts of Raja Mansingh. In 1632, the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan described Kashi as a den of pagans and issued an order to destroy the temples built there. Watch the complete history of Kashi Vishwanath in this video.
