Black Bear Cub Feasts on Cherry Tree

Occurred on May 19, 2022 / Asheville, North Carolina, USA
: "My neighbor's cherry tree hangs over my driveway. I saw the tree shaking like crazy and went outside to check on it. I got too close, looked up, and the 18-month-old cub was alone in the cherry tree. This is the age bears are chased off by their mothers and they are on their own. This guy is one who wound up in our neighborhood. His massive claws were grabbing cherries. I backed away slowly, but he was too busy eating to care. I watched as he recognized that he was up on a roof, sat for a moment, then turned around and climbed down the tree, grabbed a branch on his way down, then sauntered off casually as if he had aced a test."
