A survey conducted in Gyanvapi Masjid and what appeared to be a Shivling or a fountain was found inside the premises. This brings to the fore the Places Of Worship Act, 1991. What is it? Section 3 of The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act 1991 states that religious places shall be preserved as they were on 15 August 1947.
