Dick Robertson - Holding My Honey's Hands

Dick Robertson was one of the busiest band and studio singers from the late '20s through the early '40s, as well as a composer. He recorded under a lot of pseudonyms and worked with Eubie Blake, Duke Ellington, The Mills Blue Rhythm Band, Benny Goodman, Andy Kirk and many others. Robertson also cut a variety of sides as a leader, organizing ensembles dubbed the Dick Robertson Orchestra with the type of studio musicians who kept as busy as he did during this era. As for this catchy tune, it was recorded in 1932. Here he is accompanied by an A.R.C. studio band led by Art Kahn, a Chicagoan bandleader of whom almost no information is available. He is known to have led Claude Hopkins & His Orchestra. This great performance was recorded in 1932. Personnel probably included Manny Klein, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey.
