Shocking footage shows a gang of machete-wielding thugs robbing a delivery van as it was parked up on a residential road during a brazen broad daylight heist. The three men were filmed casually helping themselves to stacks of boxes from the back of the UCH Logistics truck in Erdington, Birmingham, on Thursday (19/5). The balaclava-clad thieves then load their loot into the back of a dark blue saloon car before they speed away from the scene with their getaway driver. A stunned member of the public can be heard saying: "They've got machetes on them. "Robbing kid's toys off the back of a f***ing van with machetes. Look at this. F**ing madness." The footage, obtained by the Birmz Is Grime blog, is believed to have been filmed on the Lyndhurst estate in Erdington at around 1pm. It shows the offenders transferring at least nine large white boxes into the getaway vehicle while one onlooker shouts: "Get me one." The video has since been viewed 50,000 times in less than 24 hours with web users expressing shock at the audacity of the raid. One person wrote: "Brazen as anything, just another casual day at the office. Its shocking how much this sort of behaviour is becoming the norm." Another added: "Yeah you can't believe the audacity of it can you. This is becoming too common, no f**s given at all." A third web user said: "Where on earth was the driver and why did he leave his van completely open. Something smells fishy?" One woman commented: "Horrendous behaviour. Society breaking down in its finest glory!"
