The Supreme Court ने गुरुवार को जीएसटी पर एक अहम फैसला सुनाया है , कोर्ट ने कहा है कि GST परिषद (Goods & Services Tax Council) की सिफारिशें केंद्र और राज्यों पर बाध्यकारी नहीं हैं. यानी जीएसटी काउंसिल जो भी सिफारिशें देता हैं, उन्हें लागू करने के लिए केंद्र और राज्य सरकार बाध्य नहीं हैं,
. बल्कि ये सिफारिशें सलाह या परामर्श के तौर पर देखी जानी चाहिए. शीर्ष अदालत ने यह भी कहा कि संसद और राज्य विधानसभाओं के पास GST पर कानून बनाने का समान अधिकार है. GST परिषद इस पर उन्हें उपयुक्त सलाह देने के लिए है.
