Coalition promises to freeze deeming rates for pensioners

The Prime Minister says an interest rate rise was inevitable after the reserve bank moved the official cash rate off its emergency record low. He's seeking to protect pensioners from rising costs of living and insulate himself from any political backlash. Scott Morrison's record on national integrity is also under scrutiny with his treasurer refusing to adopt the Prime Minister's description of the New South Wales integrity commission as a "kangaroo court".
