ASH Schade, from West Virginia USA, was transitioning to male, taking testosterone gel and oestrogen blockers when he discovered he was pregnant in February of 2020. During Ash's transition, he had a one night stand and fell pregnant naturally, which came as a huge shock. Ash told Truly: "Being a pregnant trans man, it was incredibly difficult socially. A lot of people really kind of pressured me to terminate against my wishes, but all I knew was that was my baby." During the pregnancy, Ash had to deal with staring eyes and judgemental glares from people around him which made his experience much more difficult than it needed to be. However, Ash's now husband Jordan, came into his life during the pregnancy and with help of his amazing support, Ash gave birth to a beautiful little girl called Ronan. Despite the couple's devoted love and support for each other, the young family experienced some shocking and awful judgement. Ash said: "We got some really disturbing messages; this child would be better off never being born... Lock these animals up away from kids and normal society." Ash added: "My family is my life, I'm paying my bills, raising my kid, we're pretty average and un-extraordinary all things considered."
