Reserve Bank raises cash rate target to 0.35%

The Reserve Bank has raised the cash rate target for the first time in over a decade with a 25-basis-point hike to 0.35%. If passed on in full by banks, the rise will add more than $50 a month to repayments on a $500,000 mortgage and double that on a $1 million loan.
