Rocket-firing competition resumes for first time in Thailand since pandemic began

The annual rocket competition in Thailand’s Pathum Thani province kicked off on May 1, 2022, for the first time since the pandemic started. The tradition is a way for ethnic Mon people to honour deceased Buddhist monks. The “Look Noo” rockets are stuffed with explosives and wired to cables before being launched at pagoda-shaped targets.
