JetBlue Transitions to Sustainable Fuel
JetBlue ($JBLU@US) has announced that it plans to enhance its transition to sustainable fuel, expediting the process by agreeing to an offtake deal with SG Preston, a leading bioenergy developer. As part of the deal, JetBlue planned to convert around 10% of its total fuel to sustainable products by 2030. This deal will bring JetBlue’s SAF usage to 8% by the end of 2023, increasing the goals it initiated when the deal was first signed in 2016. The new deal will run for 10 years, with SG Preston delivering nearly 700 million gallons of fuel to JetBlue’s operations at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark.
