ಇಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಗೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂತುಷ್ಟಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾದಾಟ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತೆ.. ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಉಂಡೆಯನ್ನು ಎಸೆದ್ರೂ ಸಹ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಗಾಯವಾಗಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋದು ತಾಯಿ ಮಹಿಮೆ.. ಹಾಗಾದ್ರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಕಾದಾಟ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು.. ಬನ್ನಿ ನೋಡೋಣ

'Thootedara' also known as 'Agni Keli', a tradition carried out from centuries, being played at Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple near Mangaluru.

Villagers from two Gram panchayats, Attoor and Kodettoor, use burning palm fronds against each other as part of a `game’ to please the deity as part of the annual festival at the Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple

In 'Agni keli’ a person can have a go at his opponent just five times and the sixth time the palm frond has to be discarded

The burning palm fronds are thrown at the opponent and the latter picks up and throws against the opposite group, not any individual.

It is played after Brahmaratostav and Avabhrita Snana of the deity.

The whole game lasts for just 15 minutes and after stopping the villagers go inside temple
