On Tuesday, Israel carried out air strikes on the Gaza Stripin response to a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave into Israel, making it the first air strikes on the Gaza stripin months. The rocket was fired from the enclave controlled by the Islamist group Hamas in southern Israel on Monday night. The projectile crashed into the sea off Tel Aviv.
