A political slugfest has erupted in Purulia, Bengal, following the alleged murder of Congress councillor Tapan Kandu and the death of an eyewitness. After allegations of misconduct by the police, the Calcutta High Court has transferred the investigation of the alleged murder to the CBI. The CBI is now questioning eyewitnesses on the murder and the subsequent suicide.
