Maharashtra Power crisis: Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut said he has cancelled his meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, with unions representing staffers of government-run power companies as the strike continued despite his request to call it off. Nitin Raut said The state government has already invoked Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA) to bar the employees of state-run power companies from taking part in the nationwide strike called by trade unions.

महाराष्ट्र (Maharashtra) में बिजली संकट (Power crisis) खड़ा हो सकता है। दरअसल, निजीकरण के विरोध में बिजली कर्मचारियों ने हड़ताल का ऐलान कर दिया है। राज्य के ऊर्जा मंत्री नितिन राउत ने सोमवार को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए सभी यूनियन से हड़ताल वापस लेने की अपील की थी और भरोसा दिलाया कि सरकार निजीकरण नहीं करने जा रही है। हड़ताल के फैसले से नाराज मंत्री ने हड़ताली कर्मचारियों पर मेस्मा लगाने की चेतावनी दी है।
