1994 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

The 1994 NBA Slam Dunk Contest featured 6 competitors; Robert Pack of the Denver Nuggets, Shawn Kemp of the Seattle Supersonics, Allan Houston of the Detroit Pistons, JR Rider of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Antonio Davis of the Indiana Pacers, and James Robinson of the Portland Trailblazers. The 1994 Dunk Competition introduced a different format where each competitor had 90 seconds to complete as many dunks as they choose, and one score was given for the entire 90 second routine. The final round of the completion featured 3 competitors, JR Rider, Shawn Kemp, and Robert Pak. JR Rider blew away the competition with the between the legs dunk which had not been seen in the competition since Orlando Woolridge in the 1984 contest. The between the legs dunk allowed JR Rider to fulfill his draft night prediction of winning the 1994 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
