The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives has disputed a report that more than 30,000 SMEs have closed their operations since the MCO in March. He instead pointed to data by the Companies Commission that over 82,000 new businesses had been registered, from April to mid-July -- which he claimed showed the Covid-19 situation did not prevent the establishment of new businesses.
