#KiniNews: MCO extended, violators may face heavier penalty
  • 2 tahun lalu
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the movement control order (MCO) would be extended for another two weeks until April 28.

The decision was made after obtaining feedback from the Health Ministry on the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has said the government is considering raising the fine and jail sentence imposed on those who breach the order.

In a broadcasted press conference today, he compared Malaysia’s RM1,000 compound on violators to the far higher fines imposed by governments in Singapore, South Korea and Indonesia.
