The newly elected MLAs of Punjab also took oath as members of the Legislative Assembly today. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Pro-tem Speaker Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar. Earlier, Inderbir Nijjar was administered the oath of office by Governor Banwari Lal Purohit as Pro tem Speaker (Acting Speaker). He was given this responsibility being the senior-most in the house. He became the MLA of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by winning the election from the South constituency of Amritsar. He has been the chairman of the Chief Khalsa Diwan.

Punjab के नवनिर्वाचित विधायकों ने भी आज विधानसभा के सदस्य के रूप में शपथ ले ली। उन्हें Pro-tem Speaker Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar. ने पद एवं गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलाई। इससे पहले इंदरबीर निज्जर को राज्यपाल बनवारी लाल पुरोहित ने प्रोटेम स्पीकर (कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष) के तौर पर शपथ दिलाई थी। उन्हें सदन में सबसे वरिष्ठ होने के नाते यह जिम्मेदारी दी गई। वह अमृतसर के साउथ हलके से चुनाव जीत कर आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के विधायक बने थे। वह चीफ खालसा दीवान के अध्‍यक्ष रहे हैं।
