Indian Student Killed In Russian Shelling In Kharkiv, PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi Offer Condolences

On March 1, an Indian student was killed in Shelling in Ukraine. The external affairs ministry tweeted informing about the tragic news. Naveen Shekharappa was a final year medical student from Karnataka's Haveri. 21-year-old Naveen died when Russian soldiers blew up a government building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the young student’s father. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I reiterate, GOI needs a strategic plan for safe evacuation. Every minute is precious.” Another Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “This is an awful tragedy.” Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
