Queensland floods are "not over yet" as 30,000 homes are without power - Steven Miles Press Conference | March 2, 2022 | ACM

Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles says the state’s south-east flooding event may not be over yet, but recovery efforts have swung into gear after the Brisbane River recorded a moderate peak below expectations this morning.

Speaking from Suncorp Stadium, which itself had water inundation across most of the field, Mr Miles said the river had peaked at 2.49 metres on the morning high tide.

He said the worst of the flooding, now being experienced in Logan to Brisbane’s south, was “at least as bad” as had been experienced since 1974. The council had been expecting up to 200 homes could be inundated, with about 100 impacted so far.
