The Supreme Court during a hearing on Friday asked the central government to tell whether bitcoin is illegal in the country or not. At present, there is no restriction on the use of cryptocurrencies in the country and there is no regulation on them. A two-member bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant told Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, "You have to make your stand clear." Explain that the Supreme Court has asked the government during the hearing regarding the bitcoin scam. The Rs 20,000 crore scam involved an alleged fraud of 87,000 bitcoins.

Supreme Court ने शुक्रवार को एक सुनवाई के दौरान केंद्र सरकार से पूछा है कि वह बताए कि देश में bitcoin अवैध है या नहीं। मौजूदा समय में देश में क्रिप्टोकरेंसी (Cryptocurrency) के इस्तेमाल पर कोई प्रतिबंध नहीं है और न ही इनका कोई नियमन (Regulator) है. जस्टिस डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ और जस्टिस सूर्य कांत की दो सदस्यीय खंडपीठ ने अतिरिक्त सॉलिसिटर जनरल ऐश्वर्य भाटी को कहा, 'आपको अपना रुख स्पष्ट करना होगा.' बता दें कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बिटकॉइन घोटाले को लेकर सुनवाई के दौरान सरकार से पूछा है। 20,000 करोड़ रुपये के इस घोटाले में 87,000 बिटकॉइन की कथित धोखाधड़ी शामिल है।
