Ukraine-Russia Conflict: Indian Embassy Issues Advisory, Students Appeal For Evacuation

As Russia invades Ukraine, Indian students stranded in the nation appeal to the Indian government to evacuate them at the earliest. Many students stranded in Ukraine have been appealing for help as Russia attacks Ukraine by land, sea and air. Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted a video of students, feeling helpless, as they have no means to reach a safe destination. Some students say they have been just waiting as there are no cabs or buses. The students say the embassy is not responding to their calls. Meanwhile, on February 24, the Indian Embassy issued an advisory saying, “In case you are faced with such a situation, google maps has a list of nearby bomb shelters, many of which are located in underground metros.” Congress leader Shashi Tharoor to PM Modi to understand the situation and help the students. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and called for an immediate end to the violence. Watch the video to know more.
