Twitter Users Can Tip In Ethereum

Bitcoin has been pushed aside once again with Twitter ($TWTR@US) allowing its users to send tips through the app using Ethereum. The tips feature in Twitter is only available if you have turned on that feature and added your information from a third-party payment processor. Twitter help center notes that “Through Tips, you’ll also be able to copy someone’s Bitcoin or Ethereum address and paste their address into whatever wallet you use.” While Bitcoin once dominated spaces like this, Twitter is making room for Ethereum, and it might make space for other cryptocurrencies in the future. Moreover, developers have already created a bot that allows users to send Dogecoin using the Tips feature. In addition to sending Ethereum tips, Twitter has already rolled out NFT profile pictures, a product that is also driven by Ethereum. As adoption increases for Ethereum use cases for Bitcoin may seem more and more scarce. At press time, Ethereum was trading at just over $3000, down 2% on a large increase in volume.
