President Rodrigo Roa Duterte leads the inauguration of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Elevated Extension Project at the Alabang Northbound Entry in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on February 15, 2022.
Measuring a total of 3.99 kilometers, the three-lane expansion project will have an additional capacity of 4,500 vehicles per hour, designed to ease traffic congestion in the southern portion of Metro Manila.
The extension also allows northbound motorists to bypass the usual chokepoints in Alabang, Magallanes and EDSA, as well as reach the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) within 25 to 30 minutes instead of the usual 2-3 hours of travel.
