Lata Mangeshkar ji is definitely not among us, but her legacy is a priceless heritage of the country. Born on 28 September 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Lata Mangeshkar always loved to lead a simple life. She was the eldest of five siblings. When Lata Mangeshkar was asked a question about why do you wear a white saree? So in response to this, he said, 'I like this white from childhood. Even when I was young, I used to wear ghagra choli, she also used to wear white. But there was a time in the middle that I started wearing color sarees and I used to wear sarees of every color.But after a year or two, sitting like this, I thought that there is no end to the fact that today I like pink, tomorrow it is yellow and the next day blue. And there is no end to it, so I decided in one day that from today I will not wear anything but white. You can also guess the simplicity of Lata ji and her attachment to white color from the fact that she often used to wear white colored flowers in her hair.

लता मंगेशकर (Lata Mangeshkar) जी जरूर हमारे बीच नहीं हैं, लेकिन उनकी विरासत देश की अनमोल धरोहर है। 28 सिंतबर 1929 को मध्यप्रदेश के इंदौर में जन्मीं लता मंगेशकर हमेशा से हीं सादगी पसंद जीवन जीना पसंद करती थीं। पांच भाई-बहनों में सबसे बड़ी थीं।लता मंगेशकर से जब इसके बारे में सवाल पूछा गया कि आप सफेद साड़ी क्यों पहनती हैं? तो इसके जवाब में उन्होंने कहा था, ‘मुझे ये सफेद बचपन से पसंद है। मैं जब छोटी थी तब भी में घाघरा चोली पहनती थी वो भी सफेद ही पहना करती थी। पर बीच में एक ऐसा समय आया था कि कलर साड़िया पहनना शुरू की थी मैंने और हर रंग की साड़ी में पहनती थी।पर एक-दो साल के बाद ऐसे बैठे-बैठे मुझे ख्याल आया की इस बात का तो कोई अंत हीं नहीं है कि आज मुझे गुलाबी पसंद आई तो कल पीली तो परसो नीली। और इसका कोई अंत ही नही है, इसलिए मैंने एक ही दिन में फैसला किया कि आज से में सफेद के सीवा कुछ नहीं पहनुंगी।’लता जी की सादगी और सफेद रंग से उनके लगाव का अंदाजा आप इस बात से भी लगा सकते हैं कि वो अकसर अपने बालों में सफेद रंग का फूल जरूर पहनती थीं।
