The Queen has released a photograph today to mark her Platinum Jubilee. The 95-year-old head of state is pictured smiling with her official papers on a table in front of her and nearby an image of her father, King George VI. She inherited the throne from her father 70 years ago, becoming the head of state in the country that was still recovering from the war.
