Gulzar is deeply saddened by the demise of Lata Mangeshkar. During an exclusive interview with India Today, he said, “There are no words to describe what I am feeling right now. The voice of the century got quiet and I am feeling very bad as I had a very nice relationship with her. I used to call her begum. The two-day mourning, I think is the correct honour for her. After all, she was the legend of voices and she will live as long as India is singing.”
