Hijab Row In Karnataka Colleges: Students Stopped At Gate, Some Appear Wearing Saffron Shawl

The row over hijab (head-scarf) is raging for almost a month in a pre-university college for girls in Udupi, Karnataka. A similar controversy erupted at a college in Kundapur. Some girl students arrived at the college wearing the 'hijab', reported PTI. Videos, which have gone viral, show the girl students being stopped at the gate of the college. The incident took place on February 2. In Bhadravathi, students of Sir MV Arts and Commerce College came to the campus wearing saffron stoles. They demanded that the college administration should ban hijab. Congress leader Karti P Chidambaram tweeted, “Will any institution have the courage to do the same thing against the Sikh headgear?” Watch the video to know more.
