Budget Session of Parliament to kick off today; EC to review ban on poll rallies; more

The Budget session of Parliament is all set to begin on Monday. During the Budget session, Opposition parties are likely to raise the Pegasus spyware issue, problems faced by farmers and the border row with China. The Pegasus issue was also central to the Monsoon session of Parliament last year. Opposition parties had demanded a discussion on the same and did not allow the Houses to function as per normal.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission will meet on Monday to review its ban on poll rallies, road shows and processions in the five states that are going to the polls in February and March 2022. Earlier this month, the commission had banned poll rallies in order to control the spread of Covid-19 in India.
