Volunteers working to re-home hundreds of Australia's wild horses say they need more support to reduce the number of brumbies due to be culled. New plans were adopted last year, to control the number of wild horses in the Victorian and New South Wales high country, but re-homing applications have been slow amid a maze of government red tape.
