Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Among Three From West Bengal Who Refused Padma Award

Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, former chief minister of West Bengal, said he was not aware that he had been named for the Padma Bhushan. Bhattacharjee said he would refuse to accept if he had been given the award. Three people from Bengal on the Modi government's list have refused the Padma awards. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who is an arch critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was the first to decline the honour. Tabla maestro Pandit Anindya Chatterjee and eminent vocalist Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, have also turned down the honour. Watch the video to know more.
