On January 24, NATO said it was putting forces on standby and reinforcing Eastern Europe with more ships and fighter jets. This comes in reply to Russia's military build-up at Ukraine's borders. Jens Stoltenberg said, “NATO will continue to take all necessary measures to protect and defend all allies, including by reinforcing the eastern part of the alliance.” Oana Lungescu, NATO Spokesperson tweeted, “A strong sign of allied solidarity.” Liz Truss, Foreign Secretary, United Kingdom met Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels.
