Netaji should not be reduced to just a hologram: Shashi Tharoor

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a hologram statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor slammed the Centre for abandoning his valour and heroism and said that he should not be reduced to just a symbol or a hologram. “There are 164 institutions in India named after Netaji, all of this before 2014. He should not be reduced to just a symbol or a hologram. Netaji stood for certain admirable values and principles. His valour and heroism are abandoned by the present government,” Tharoor said.
He also added, “You can't snuff out Amar Jawan Jyoti just because you have got another flame at National War Memorial. The flame is meant to be Amar, it's meant to be immortal and eternal. You don't destroy what is eternal, merely because of the whims of present government.”
