The Tamil Nadu government has said that strict action will be taken against those who are responsible for the death of the 17-year-old girl, who allegedly committed suicide last week after consuming pesticide in Thanjavur. The victim's family has alleged that she was pressurised to convert herself to Christianity. State Education Minister Anbil Mahesh stated that preliminary investigation has not revealed any angle of religious conversion. The minister has promised thorough investigation into the matter and justice for the victim's family.
