That is the most single-day deaths
the country has recorded since
the beginning of the pandemic.
Previously, Australia's record-high was
57 COVID deaths in one day.
As Omicron sweeps the nation, more Aussies are being hospitalized and admitted to the ICU than ever before amid the pandemic.
'The New York Times' reports that on Jan. 18, 1,152 people had been hospitalized,
and 127 people were admitted to the ICU.
