Tax exemption is also allowed on payment up to Rs 5,000 for preventive health checkup, but experts have suggested increasing the tax exemption on health insurance. Income tax exemption is available on health insurance premium and select medical expenses under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act 1961.

प्रेवेंटिव हेल्थ चेकअप के लिए 5,000 रुपये तक के भुगतान पर भी टैक्स छूट की अनुमति है, मगर एक्सपर्ट ने स्वास्थ्य बीमा पर टैक्स छूट बढ़ाने का सुझाव दिया है. आयकर अधिनियम 1961 की धारा 80डी के तहत स्वास्थ्य बीमा प्रीमियम और चुनिंदा मेडिकल खर्चों पर इनकम टैक्स छूट मिलती है.
