देश में साक्षरता के मामले में नंबर वन रहने वाले केरल राज्य (Kerala) ने एक और बड़ी उपलब्द्धि पाई है। केरल के एर्नाकुलम ( Ernakulam) जिले में एक नई पहल की गई है। इस पहल जरिए कुंबलांगी गांव (Kumbalangi village ) भारत का पहला सैनेटरी नैपकिन फ्री गांव (India's first sanitary napkin free village) बनेगा। गांव में 18 साल से ज्यादा उम्र की महिलाओं को 5000 मेंस्ट्रुअल कप (Menstrual Cups) बांटे गए। हैं। जिसका इस्तेमाल पीरियड्स के दौरान किया जाता है।
