Footage filmed by Adrian Grierosu shows the moment a New Year's celebration went wrong in Gravesend, Kent.
The problem arises when the explosive takes a nosedive instead of heading straight up, and explodes dangerously close to a bunch of people.
"Some people decided to launch fireworks on New Year without proper training, and this is how it went," the filmer told us. "Luckily, no one was hurt."
