Novak Djokovic’s visa cancellation by the Australian government has snowballed into an international controversy. The Tennis star traveled down under post a ‘Vaccine exemption’ granted by Australian Open authorities however, the decision was decried in Australia and the Australian border authorities cancelled his visa over his alleged unvaccinated status. Soon after, reports surfaced that Djokovic was being detained in a hotel by Australian authorities which has been rejected by the country’s Home Office. Meanwhile, Serbia has backed their national saying Australia’s treatment of Djokovic amounts to a ‘witch hunt’.
