Twelve-year-old Scottish cyclist Xander Graham became the sensation of the 2021 Tour of Britain after his starring role during stage seven when he rode alongside the breakaway and took a bidon from Team Jumbo – Visma’s Pascal Eenkhoorn mid-race.
The moment was caught live on television and shown around the world, with the video receiving over 1.6m views on the Tour of Britain social media accounts.
Eenkhoorn was part of a five-rider breakaway near the end of the stage, alongside eventual winner Yves Lampaert, and handed his bidon to Xander while he rode alongside them on the pavement as they raced towards the finish in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
